What's New in Fluency Direct?
Text Insertion Interval
Fluency Direct now allows you to control how many words are inserted at a time which can improve performance. This can improve performance lag by up to 40%.
SpeechboxText Size
Fluency Direct now offers users the ability to change the font size in the speechbox window. Select the font size from the dropdown: Normal, Medium, or Large.
Mobile Microphone Voice Isolation
Available for both iOS and Android
When you want your voice to be heard clearly while using Fluency Direct, you will be able to turn on Voice Isolation mode. Voice Isolation mode prioritizes your voice and blocks out the ambient noise. This functionality will be available with our next Mobile Microphone release and iOS 15+.
Available via Settings which can be accessed from the gear icon in the upper right of the home screen.
Help & Training Menu
The help menu has been updated to reflect both help and training resources. This new menu structure will provide access to help with the added menu items for Training Videos and the Command Exchange.
Add Command - Open File
The Add Commands dialog has a new option to add a file in the command steps. This option allows you to select a target file to open in a specific application and choose the run mode, normal, minimized, or maximized.
Medical Specialty
For those users not explicitly selecting a medical specialty, updated Fluency Direct's default specialty to Internal Medicine.
Configuration
Disabled Dynamic Specialty Switching for users of 11.2 and later. Feature.AdvancedSpecialties config has been updated to do the following: (1) hide the advanced link on the window and (2) disable the switching of specialty based on window focus.
Added the new user setting DD.AutoLogoutTime.InMinutes. Fluency Direct now checks whenever a user logs in if they have that user setting and periodically checks if they have been idle at least that long, if they have been idle, Fluency Direct logs them out. While this setting is not recommended, this can be used to timeout users based on inactivity with Fluency Direct.
Memory
Updated Fluency Direct to limit memory use of undo history to 20 steps for the last 10 focused controls to prevent out of memory errors.
Added the ability for Fluency Direct's CPU and memory usage to be captured in logs.
Resolved OutOfMemoryException in the Fluency Direct Client on very long WriteLineToLog events from Connector. FD connector, Session Manager and FD Zero clients are all working as expected when they send log lines to the Fluency Direct Client.

Scripting
Added the Cut Step option to the contextual menu for Script and Grammar editors. Once you Copy or Cut, you will be given the option to Paste before or after the selected step, if desired.
CAPD
Evident (CPSI) has added support for two custom messages to their text control for getting text and text length. This will enable our customers to use CAPD in CPSI text controls. To accommodate this, we have created a handler for Evident (CPSI) Text Control.
Microphone
Fluency Direct has been upgraded to use Olympus SDK to Version 1.3.2.
SHIFT Click the Microphone Setup menu item to see the new feature, "Disable Back Trigger Button" checkbox for Olympus and SpeechMike Microphones. This option will prevent the back button from being triggered by any action. When enabled, the back button will be triggered to the corresponding action.
Implemented a portable version of Fluency Direct that can be stored on the Olympus microphone as a zip file. The exe from the microphone will not interfere with an already installed version of FD on a machine.
Commands
Implemented "Show Numbers" feature. Show Numbers highlights individual controls on the currently focused window. The user can then click on any given control using speech commands such as “select 1” or “select 22”.
The Rich Text Command Step has been updated to produce text that is the correct size. Previously text could often be inserted with a font size different than originally indicated.
Updated the following commands to behave appropriately.
"Cap that" with no selection to proper case all words in the last utterance
"Correct That" command to open the Correction window based on the last utterance when no text is selected

Refactored the Window Layout, located in Settings. Position and Size can be set "Per Computer" or "Same across All Computers".
Pronunciation and GrammarsUpdated the phonetic pronunciation generator to accommodate German pronunciations.
Updated values for pronunciation, correction, & spelling in UserInterface.xml. FD is reflecting those window titles in respective windows and functionality are working as expected.
Updated New Lines in Validation Warning on Custom Grammar Window for proper display.

Single Sign-on (SSO)
SSO Users can now create usernames that include spaces for names (i.e. Mary Ann).
Created a new error message for SSO Users that have an expired password. The new message now reads: "Your password has expired please contact your local IT Help Desk for assistance." This change was implemented to resolve confusion around the previous error message.
Windows Layout
Formatting
Added Hidden Formatting options, available when you Shift Click the Formatting menu option. "Spaces after a sentence" allows a user to set one (1) or two (2) spaces after a period at the end of a sentence.
Improvements
Improved the speed and performance for Search in the Command Window as well as the time of recognition to the time of display for Spell Mode.
