Device preferences
Device preferences control the performance of your recording device.
Recording and Input
Recording and Input device: Phillips Speechmike / Headset with foot pedal (if you choose Headset with foot pedal, an additional button appears; click to configure the foot pedal - refer to the IT or PACs administration to configure the headset/foot pedal)
Calibrate microphone after sign-in: Off / On

Record button behavior: (This setting only appears if you are not using Fluency Direct for dictation; if you are using FD, record button behavior is controlled in the FD preferences)
Hold to talk: record button must be constantly pressed to record - this is the best practice.
Toggle to talk: record button is pressed once to start recording and once again to stop. (If you don't consistently toggle off, it may cause recognition issues.)
Use forward and rewind buttons for field navigation: Off / On
F1 - F4 buttons - these buttons can be mapped to various FFI actions EOL button (Voice Edit mode only)
INS/OVR button (Voice Edit mode only)
Foot pedal
Left / Middle / Right pedals
Keyboard function keys
Set a custom action for each of the listed keys (F1-F4; F7-F9; please check with your administrator for PACs configuration settings)
