Commands

Fluency Direct commands offer the ability to voice-edit text, insert snippets of text, automate actions for voice navigating applications, and more.

Built-In Commands

There is a wide variety of voice commands built into Fluency Direct for hands-free text editing.  These commands include the ability to jump to specific places within the text, such as “select (words)”, “go to the end of the sentence”, and “next field”.  Selected text can be spoken over or otherwise manipulated, such as “underline that” or “delete that”.  A full list of available built-in voice commands can be found here.

Custom Commands

Fluency Direct allows for custom commands to be created that will automate single or multi-step actions with voice.  These can be as simple as a voice command to pull in a snippet of text or a complex set of actions that automate otherwise multiple-click workflows.

The basic functionality of commands allows someone without programming expertise to build and maintain the automation of common actions.  Basic commands are built through the Fluency Direct UI via the Commands window.  Available actions include: inserting snippets of text, performing keyboard shortcuts, automating mouse clicks, initiating window focus changes, and running built-in commands.  Again, these actions can be used for a single-step or multi-step command.

Personal and Group Level Commands

Commands can be created for usage by an individual Fluency Direct user or for groups of users, managed by an administrator.  These can include snippets of text, in the form of text templates or common phrases (“normals”), or navigational commands.  Group-level commands are locked so they cannot be removed or edited by the end user inheriting the commands.
