Command Creation Best Practices

Commands are organized by adding a command group name; this will not be a spoken command, simply a way to organize like commands. The command name that is entered is the “exact” words that will be spoken to the system in order to recognize that command. For example, you would speak the words “Insert ER Template”

It is helpful to name commands with distinct action words (see below) not part of your everyday dictation terms, such as “Insert …” or “ … template”. A command of 2-3 words improves command recognition.

Spell out numbers rather than using the numerals (i.e. "Four Two Five" instead of "425"). Use an "action verb" at the beginning of each command name (i.e. "Insert", "Print", etc.).
